Vice President Nominations

As we get closer and closer to the Presidential candidates naming running mates I cannot help but be amazed at the timing of these events. i am somewhat surprised that this close to the conventions neither candidate has names a running mate as of this writing. The news stated this morning that Obama is leaning towards Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Delaware) and Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Indiana) or even possibly Governors Tim Kaine of Virginia or Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas Then there is Bill Richardson of New Mexico. Any of these candidates will be a good choice for the GOP, but it is my hope that he will choose Joe Biden of Delaware. That will give a huge boost to the GOP and their chances of preserving America from the liberal right. I do think however that Obama is too cunning for that choice, if i were guessing (which I am) I would guess that he would like to pick Bill Richardson of New Mexico, a strong Hispanic with a strong following. But history tells me he will go for a non Hispanic and a man, with him being the first African American on a ticket, It would not be smart to lean the ticket with another minority (Hispanic or female) But I am just guessing. So with that said, my guess is that he will pick Kaine from Virginia.

On the GOP side, McCain has a much more difficult choice, I figure he is leaning towards Romney, but with all of the negative news about radical Mormons this past year he may steer clear of him for that reason, so It will be either Tom Ridge (Former head of Homeland Security and Former Governor of Pennsylvania. Or a more conservative governor such as Mark Sanford (R-SC) or Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) I am from SC and that does not sway my choices, but the best choice for McCain would be Mike Huckabee former presidential candidate and former Governor of Arkansas. Any of these will be a good strong choice.
